SINCHEM & PHOTOTRAIN
SINCHEM is a three-year international joint Doctoral Programme in Sustainable Industrial Chemistry offered by a consortium of 33 partner institutions (7 full partners and 26 associated members). Strong industrial links to major companies in the field are a key part of the Consortium. “Turn research into jobs/business through innovation” is one of the key statements of the European Technology Platform for Sustainable Chemistry (SusChem). SINCHEM aims to foster this vision in the field of PhD student education.
Funded by the Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions of the European H2020 programme, PHOTOTRAIN is an Innovative Training Network (ITN) with 13 global partners from both notable academic institutions and leading industry leaders. The project offers an ambitious inter- and multidisciplinary training programme for 14 early stage researchers (ESR). The main focus of this project is the conversion of solar energy starting from the fundamental bases (photophysics), and including the design of photoactive molecules (organic chemistry) and the materials (colloidal chemistry), the study of the photoinduced processes (photochemistry and microscopy), performing and studying the reactions (physical chemistry), building a microfluidic photoreactor (physics and engineering), and planning an industrial-scalable chemical process.
